Matthias Benz starts as a member of the Zeppelin Group Management Board. He will expand the Management Board to five members before taking over from Peter Gerstmann as Chairman of the Group Management Board on October 1, 2024.

Matthias Benz was previously CEO of Raufoss Technology and worked for the ZF Group for many years. There he held various national and international management positions. Within the Zeppelin Group, he will join Peter Gerstmann, Chairman of the Group Management Board, Fred Cordes, COO, Christian Dummler, CFO and Alexandra Mebus, CHRO.

"I am looking forward to an excellently positioned, committed and motivated team at Zeppelin," says Matthias Benz. "Peter Gerstmann and I will be using the next three months intensively to transfer knowledge and get to know business customers, partners and employees."

Peter Gerstmann, who has helped shape the Zeppelin Group for over 24 years, had already communicated at an early stage that he would not be available for a further period as Chairman of the Group Management Board and would like to hand over to a successor. The Supervisory Board of Zeppelin GmbH already approved Matthias Benz's succession in December 2023.
