Artificial intelligence has changed our world and will continue to have an impact on our professional and private lives. From the way we work and communicate to changes in business, science and technology. But can artificial intelligence also help us to become more sustainable? In the case of companies: Doing business more sustainably, in an ecological, economic and social sense?

To get to the bottom of this key question, Dr. Günter Reuscher from the VDI Technology Center and Green AI Hub Mittelstand, Georg Gabelmann, Senior Manager IT AI at ZF in Friedrichshafen and Achim Fischbach, Head of Data Solutions at the Zeppelin Group headquarters in Garching, were guests at the CSR Week.

In all use cases, it became abundantly clear that the use of AI definitely pays off in terms of sustainability: processes are made more efficient, innovations are promoted, quality is proactively controlled, resources are conserved and emissions are reduced. This creates a win-win situation in which economic growth and environmental protection go hand in hand. Nevertheless, ethical handling and data security are key issues for use in companies, the economy and society. Basic ethical principles and guidelines for the use and sharing of data are helpful here.
